Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Active Learning for Arctic Observing Systems

Full‑time, three‑year appointment (10 % teaching duties).

Overview

We invite applications for a postdoctoral position focused on developing actively learning observing systems for carbon, water, and energy exchange in Arctic environments. The role centres on creating frameworks that enable environmental observing systems to adapt and learn from data, identifying the most informative measurements and guiding where, when, and how to observe next. Combining Bayesian inference, probabilistic modelling, and machine learning, the project aims to make Arctic observations more efficient, intelligent, and impactful.
