Job Description
Primary Care Nurse Practitioner needed at a top facility in Bronx, New York! -This is an onsite position, no remote option.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Takes histories, performs physical examinations, gives immunizations (as necessary) and does patient education and counseling.
- Orders appropriate lab work, draws blood for lab work if needed, and performs some lab tests such as wet prep microscopic exams.
- Prescribes treatment for minor illnesses, and consults with physician regarding medication, chronic illness and referrals when appropriate.
- Maintains legible and appropriate documentation and reviews records periodically. Does follow-up of abnormal pap smears and reportable STD s.
- Attends case conferences involving patients.
- Attends provider meetings and participates in quality improvement programs and team assignments.
