Job Description

We are seeking a Principal or Quantity Surveyor to join our Local Government team in Cardiff, supporting the delivery of a wide range of highways and infrastructure projects across Rhondda Cynon Taff, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council.

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for highways and infrastructure projects.
• Monitoring and controlling costs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assisting with preparing tender documentation, bills of quantities, and procurement strategies.
• Managing and administering contracts (primarily NEC forms), including handling variations, claims, and dispute resolution, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
• Preparing and presenting cost reports, CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliation), and financial forecasts to stakeholders.
