Principal Technician – RTU Field

Requirements

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Candidate eligible for registration as a Professional Engineering Technician (ECSA).

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Driver’s License code B or EB.
• (8) years or more of post‑qualification relevant RTU field experience, including testing and commissioning of automation systems.

Key Performance Areas

• Sound knowledge of testing and commissioning of highly complicated Substation RTUs and operations of HV and MV primary plant and equipment.
• Clear understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Act and Construction Regulations, and maintenance of health and safety standards.
• Contribute to the overall SCADA Field Services business plan.
• Compile technical specifications for the supply of RTUs and SCADA communication equipment.
