JOB PURPOSE:

To strategise and negotiate with suppliers and vendors in order to acquire the most timely and cost-effective stock and to reduce procurement expenses and lead times.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain procurement strategies per sub-category to ensure lowest cost and top performance over the short term and into the long term.
• Perform medium to long term planning with suppliers to align their growth strategies.
• Identify supplier and supply chain risks that would put assured supply at low cost and required quality in jeopardy in the short, medium and longer term, and develop risk mitigation strategies and plans, which will include contingency plans for sole suppliers or sole supplying plants, a...
