A Municipal Prosecutor acts as the City's legal representative and prosecutes cases in Municipal Court.

Essential Functions:

Handles a full array of criminal cases including traffic, serious misdemeanors and domestic violence, code enforcement, animal control and sales tax.

Reviews police reports to determine appropriate charges and disposition.

Prepares for and conducts arraignments, pre-trial hearings and bench trials, jury trials and sentencings.

Enters into plea negotiations with defendants or their attorneys during pretrial conferences.

Provides legal guidance to Police Department and other City departments.
