CLINICAL PROFILE REVIEW (no prescreen)
Unit: Cath Lab RN
# suites/labs: 2 rooms. 1 mostly EP
#cases per day on average: 8
Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS, ACLS
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: one room mostly all EP , other room fully interventional lab. no structural heart. no open heart at Mercy so lesser acute interventions only
Do they do EP & IR in the Cath Lab? EP yes, IR No. some peripheral procedures but no standard IR-type procedures
Are RN's required to scrub &/or sedate? Scrub would be wonderful but not necessary. Yes, all RNs must sedate
Experience or 'Must have' skills: EP experience is a plus and would be wonderful, but not required. Would not work in EP room if no prior experience
EMR/Equipment: Maclab, some limited Cerner
Cardiologist hours/on call: 24/7
Manager/Charge Nurse: We have a permanent RN Manager and rotating charge RN M-F
