JOB SUMMARY The Roadway Inspector is responsible for a variety of civil engineering functions for the purpose of monitoring and inspecting roadway construction for both land development and Town projects for compliance with plans, standards and codes and ordinances. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Conducts continual on-site inspections of subdivision streets to ensure compliance with approved plans, design standards, and codes and ordinances.
• Reviews and approves utility and other encroachment permit applications for installation within Town right-of-ways to ensure compliance with Town and/or South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) standards.
• Provides on-call help as needed to respond or direct responses to roadway/right-of-way damage or repair needs.
