ASEM (Advanced Semiconductor Excellence Malaysia), part of the Malaysia IC Design Park, is a national initiative launched in 2023 to accelerate Malaysia’s role in the global semiconductor value chain. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Economy with strong support from the Selangor State Government and SIDEC, ASEM focuses on shifting the industry from “Made in Malaysia” to “Made by Malaysia.” The academy provides access to EDA tools, test infrastructure, IP resources, MPW services, talent development programs, and the Selangor Semiconductor Fund. Through partnerships with leading international universities and more than 25 local institutions, as well as collaborations with over 150 industry partners and major foundries such as TSMC, Siltera, and xFabs, ASEM offers a rich ecosystem for learning, research, and innovation. Apprentices gain exposure to real‑world projects, advanced training, and strong professional networks within the semiconductor sector.
