A full‑time post for a Senior Head and Neck, Thyroid and Parathyroid Oncology Fellow is required at the Royal Derby Hospital site of University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, to work with a dynamic and supportive Head and Neck team to deliver and develop cancer services and provide advanced surgical training.
This subspecialist fellowship programme provides advanced training in Head and Neck Oncology, Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery, Transoral Robotic Surgery (TORS) using the Da Vinci Xi system, and complex endocrine surgery. UHDB performs more than 150 thyroid operations per year, making it one of the highest‑volume thyroid and parathyroid surgical programmes in the East Midlands. The programme operates in close collaboration with Endocrine Surgery for complex parathyroid cases with intraoperative PTH (ioPTH) monitoring.
