Onit’s AI Labs are building custom AI models to automate tasks in legal operations, contracts, and spend management. We’re looking for an ambitious and experienced lawyer with an interest in AI who can be a subject matter expert that ensures the quality of our models.

Responsibilities

• Embedded within the Models team, you will collaborate closely with AI scientists, engineers, and legal researchers to bridge legal expertise and model development.
• Translate legal domain knowledge into actionable model requirements
• Identify inefficiencies and pain points across legal processes, assessing opportunities for automation and AI‑driven improvement
• Contribute to evaluation design, defining quality benchmarks for legal AI and building the frameworks to measure them
• Design and test internal tooling to accelerate model development workflows
• Mentor junior legal AI researchers on legal concepts and best practices
