With the shifts in the global order and deepening geopolitical tensions, we live in a world which is less predictable and secure. In recent years, global supply chains are increasingly being scrutinised for their ability to withstand shocks. Countries are reconfiguring trade networks and supply chains in the name of resilience and security. As a small and open economy with limited natural resources, Singapore needs to be prepared and reacts nimbly in the face of such changes. The Supply Chain and Economic Resilience Division (SCERD) is responsible for ensuring economic resilience and the resilience of Singapore’s critical supply chains. SCERD also oversees building and institutionalising resilience, operational preparedness and crisis management capabilities in the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
