Job Description
Responsibilities - Various life-saving appliances and fire-fighting appliances must be installed, inspected, maintained, and repaired aboard ships while adhering to SOLAS and class rules.
- In accordance with manufacturer instructions and legal requirements, perform routine testing and inspections of lifeboats, liferafts, fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and other firefighting apparatus.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults, finding and fixing technical problems quickly and efficiently.
- Maintain and certify LSA/FFE equipment annually while following safety regulations and industry best practices.
- For the sake of regulatory compliance, keep thorough records of all maintenance operations, inspections, and repairs.
- Work together with marine engineers, ship workers, and other interested parties to guarantee the safe and dependable operation of firefighting and life-saving systems aboard ships.
