**Purpose and Scope:**

Pack and/or re-packs a wide variety of materials. Verifies the condition code of the item to be packed and reject those not meeting the release order requirements. Determines the type of pack required in accordance with information contained on documents and other packing and shipping instructions such as military standards, DOD Manuals, and regulatory requirements (HAZNAT, RAD). Reports to designated Lead, Supervisor or Manager.

**Essential Responsibilities:**

**1.** Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts, rejects, and disposes of material as per DLA regulations.

**2.** Ensures material is properly preserved/packaged/marked/labeled in accordance with Military Standards prior to releasing material to storage or shipping.

**3.** Selects proper size container and cushioning to be used from available stock to ensure protection against damage.
