Job Description

Bring Culinary Excellence to a Luxury Safari Experience in the Eastern Cape! Sous Chef in the Eastern Cape at a private game reserve. Salary: R16,000 – R18,000 (Negotiable DOE). This is a live‑in position in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a professional kitchen
  • Previous lodge experience mandatory
  • Proven leadership and kitchen team management skills
  • Strong all‑round culinary ability across hot kitchen and pastry sections
  • Experience in baking, breads, desserts, cold kitchen, à la carte, and family‑style service
  • Strong organisational, planning, and time management abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistency in food preparation
  • In‑depth understanding of stock control, food costing, and kitchen administration
