Responsibilities

• Responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of thoracic surgery in‑patients under the supervision of the consultant team.
• Liaising with on‑call consultant and nursing staff regarding emergency and non‑elective referrals.
• Regular attendance in theatres and out‑patient clinics.
• Administration including the production of discharge summaries, clinic letters and communication of pathology results to referring trusts.
• Contribution to departmental teaching, research and clinical audit.
