Job Description
Staff AccountantJohnston, RI | Pay rate: $34/hr W2 | 3 months contract
- Prepare and post daily journal entries for loan-related transactions, primarily student loans and mortgage loans, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform month-end close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and recurring monthly accounting entries.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure proper application of debits, credits, and accounting principles.
- Review incoming payments and process related accounting transactions in accordance with company procedures.
- Utilize Oracle to post, review, and approve accounting entries; training provided as needed.
- Create, update, and analyze spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data validation for reporting purposes.
