Accountabilities

• Operate a variety of complex processes and Utilities equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
• Support steel production through Utilities services including: electricity, steam, mill water, compressed air, nitrogen, oxygen and wastewater.
• Operate high-pressure steam equipment and auxiliaries within the steelworks safely and efficiently.
• React appropriately to operational changes in a timely manner
• Working hands‑on in a control room or in field monitoring operations, overseeing complex and varying processes.
• Support steel and energy production in accordance with the TSSA Operating Engineer’s Act and with Algoma`s policies and procedures.
• Operate environmental control equipment to assist in meeting emission requirements.
• Problem solve process changes to ensure safe and stable operations.
