**Description:**

POSITION PURPOSE

Furnishes sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and services for the care and treatment of patients. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**

**1. Decontamination of Equipment and Supplies**

+ Decontaminates dirty equipment and supplies.
+ Sorts items for proper handling and cleaning.
+ Selects appropriate cleaning processes and required levels of decontamination.
+ Receives, sorts, and cleans instruments and equipment in accordance with departmental policies and AAMI standards.
+ Disassembles surgical instrument trays and equipment following manufacturer recommendations.
+ Decontaminates and processes instrumentation using washer disinfectors and/or sonic cleaners.
