Our structural engineering firm is looking to appoint a Structural Engineering Technician for our Hermanus Office. The Technician will assist in drawing, drafting and analysing the components of buildings and infrastructure.



Key Responsibilities



Design & Drafting: Create detailed structural drawings, schematics and BIM (Building Information Modeling) models using software like AutoCAD and Revit.

Engineering Analysis: Assist senior engineers by performing load calculations, evaluating material stresses

(e.g. concrete, steel and timber) and utilising analysis tools like PROKON.

Site Inspections: Visit construction sites to verify that work aligns with structural plans, inspect existing building conditions and prepare technical site reports.

Compliance: Ensure all structural designs and modifications meet local building codes, such as the SANS regulations in South Africa.
