Operating Room Technician

Performs scrub and related duties in the operating room.

Major Responsibilities & Duties:

• Performs the required duties in the OR under the supervision of the RN Circulating Nurse and according to hospital standards/policy.
• Utilizes the Surgeon Preference Card and with circulating nurse, identifies and gathers all necessary supplies, equipment, and instruments for each operative procedure.
• Assures proper handling of contaminated instruments and cleaning of room after cases. Performs housekeeping duties as needed.
• Assists surgeon by anticipating needs and providing instruments and other materials in a timely manner.
• Takes direction from M.D. staff or R.N., when necessary in an emergency situation.
• Responsible for working with team members as time permits for: assisting in other O.R.'s as needed, picking procedure supplies for the next day's schedule, stocking/restocking supply...
