Job Description Job Summary:
The Interventional Radiology Technologist assists physicians and advanced practice providers in performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. They operate specialized imaging equipment, ensure patient safety, and manage procedure-related documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with interventional radiology procedures, maintaining a sterile environment throughout.
- Review patient charts, verify exam orders, and assess eligibility based on medications and NPO status.
- Explain procedures to patients, provide pre- and post-procedure care, and deliver discharge instructions.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment to acquire high-quality diagnostic images.
- Monitor vital signs when applicable and respond promptly to adverse reactions.
- Manage supplies, retrieve medications, and ensure availability of resources during procedures.
