Responsibilities

• The accurate and timely provision of Sterile Services procedures and processes, to ensure all equipment / packs are provided in a safe condition for use on patients.
• To provide a distribution service to all wards and departments – correct – timely – economical.

Scope

• Provides professional sterilization services to Hospital
• Work is performed on any shift, as required in the CSSD department of Hospital
• Hours are as assigned and may include on call.

Principle Duties

• ZONE I – Receiving and Washing
• Includes:
  • Collection of used equipment from users
  • Checking instrument / sets on return from users to ensure all items are present and in a good condition.
  • Reporting any item missing immediately to the supervisor and user.
  • Recording any incident of missing equipment or complaint into department diary.
