The Tooling Engineer is responsible for providing technical input for injection, rotational or other moulding processes to ensure performance, reliability, cost control and lifecycle management of production tooling, including new tooling procurement, trialling condition setting, request for quote (RFQ) creation, capital expenditure (CapEx) planning, and early-stage tolling input to research and development designs.
The Tooling Engineer will ensure tolling solutions are technically robust, commercially sound, manufacturable, and suitable for volume production and will advise junior to middle management to maintain a safe, efficient, and stable manufacturing operations.
You will use discretion and judgement to provide technical and commercial input, for approval, into tooling decisions and tooling budgets and will supply accurate data to support tooling systems.
