About the organisation
The Victorian Disability Worker Commission (VDWC) is an independent statutory body of the Victorian Government, established under the Disability Service Safeguards Act 2018. Working alongside the Disability Worker Registration Board of Victoria, the Commission helps ensure disability services are safe, professional and accountable. It receives and investigates complaints about disability workers, takes action where there is risk of harm, and maintains public registers of registered and prohibited workers. While small in size, the Commission has a strong public presence and significant regulatory authority.
