The Ministry of Health is the lead Public Health agency on the national COVID-19 response and has established the COVID-19 Health System Response Directorate to provide oversight of all activities contributing to the Ministry’s COVID-19 response.
The Health Order Exemptions team is part of the Border, Managed Isolation and Exemptions group within the COVID-19 Health System Response Directorate. The team are responsible for the development and implementation of operational design to support exemptions made under Public Health Orders.
In the event of a future resurgence the Exemptions team will stand up a ‘surge’ workforce to support the operation of any large-scale exemptions processes that are implemented.The team coordinates activities with external agencies as well as closely within the Directorate and across the Ministry.
Te whainga poto o tēnei tūranga – What is the purpose of this position?
The Advisor will support the design and development of operational policies and business processes for exemptions. Advisors are also responsible for undertaking analysis and information gathering to provide high quality advice, and to support the proactive delivery of information. Queries may come from within the Ministry, other government agencies, external stakeholders, and Ministers.
