Seeking applications for a motivated Second in Charge to assist the Farm Manager to supervise and implement the agreed farm management plan, completing all tasks required for herd and farm management ensuring the farm achieves production targets.

The 160 ha fully irrigated farm runs a stocking rate of approximately 3.5 cows/ha (560 cows peak milked) and has a 50-bail rotary dairy with ALPRO milk monitoring, cup removers and Pro Track. We are a demonstration farm focused on best practice for the New Zealand dairy industry.
This is a permanent position based at our Lincoln University Dairy Farm (based in Lincoln), working an average of 45 hours per week over the course of the year. The milking schedule is 10/7 full season, with a 5 and 2 roster.
This role offers a base salary of $65,000 - $77,000 per annum (depending on experience) + on-farm housing ($300/wk) + clothing allowance of $520/year (equates to a total package of $83,000 - $95,000 per annum).
