The Assistant Manager role in our Hospice shop in Whangaparaoa is not for the faint hearted! It's physical, it's busy, and it's full on. But you're not on you own as you'll have the support of your Manager and Store Person, and a wonderful team of fantastic volunteers to help you. As Assistant Manager, you'll support the Manager with the overall running of the shop and ensure a fantastic customer experience for donors, customers and volunteers alike. You'll get involved in everything that's required in running a successful pre-loved fashion and homewares store. From sorting to merchandising, to delegating, completing timesheets and cashing up, and ensuring the volunteers are having a break and a cuppa.  This is a permanent role working three days (24 hours) a week on Wednesday or Thursday, and Friday and Saturday. About you | Mohou ake We're looking for someone who lives and breathes great customer service. Ideally you have a background in retail but most importantly, we want someone who builds relationships with people from all walks of life in a collaborative, open and positive way. You will: Lead by example, get stuck in and take initiative. You're not easily fazed. Demonstrate the ability to motivate and lead a team of dedicated volunteers. Be highly organised and enjoy working at pace in a busy environment. Be naturally inquisitive. Able to identify brands and items of value using your own knowledge, social media and the internet. Have visual merchandising experience. You'll also have flexibility to change your hours on the odd occassion, to cover leave and to provide extra support as needed. Please note only those with NZ Citizenship or permanent residency will be considered for this permanent role. About us | Ko matou tenei Harbour Hospice is one of the largest hospices in Aotearoa and has been caring for turoro (patients) and their family and whanau for almost 40 years. Every day we care for close to 400 people across the North Shore, Hibiscus Coast and Warkworth/Wellsford regions, supporting them at home, in one of our two inpatient units, or in community programmes offered at each of our three sites. Our bespoke services given free of charge, include medical care, spiritual, psychological and social support, physio, occupational and complementary therapy, social activities and more. We have a network of 17 hospice shops from Devonport to Te Hana, delivering a third of our funding. The shops are busy and vibrant and an important part of the communities we serve.
