As a Behaviour Support Specialist within this growing and talented team, your focus will include:
Case Management: You will support a dedicated and varied caseload and will develop a plan to deliver Positive Behaviour Support interventions that can be used in the person's home environment.
Problem-Solving Skills: You will be planning, managing and successfully implementing a wide range of solutions for a variety of behavioural needs
Collaboration with a capital C: No one can do this role alone and so your ability to work closely with families and your peers to champion and enable success is key
Empowerment: Within the role you will be committed to supporting and empowering people who experience disability,autism or developmental trauma to live independently, safely and to contribute meaningfully within their communities.
Cultural Awareness : You will recognise the importance of Te Ao Māori and the strength of working collaboratively with whānau within a culturally competent framework.
We welcome applications from Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Social Workers, Behaviour Therapists/Specialists (BCBA's), Teachers and People with a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or at least 3 years relevant experience in the behaviour support or autism field. Experience working in a residential setting is a plus.
