The role/Te mahi
As a Clinical Physiologist – Sleep, you will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team performing diagnostic and therapeutic overnight sleep studies for patients.
This role also educates patients with respect to treatment issues and prepares clinical reports on these studies. This is completed by providing specialist technical support to WellSleep in the area of polysomnography and ventilatory treatment support and providing a high standard of care to patients to ensure best practice outcomes.
You will provide technical support for research within the Centre and actively contribute to Wellsleep’s Quality Assurance programme.

We are looking for candidates with:
• A health-related degree including a knowledge of the pathophysiology of the neurological and respiratory systems, diagnostic techniques and instrumentation.
• Computer literacy including networked systems, word processing and databases.
• Understanding of the importance of patient focussed outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Clinical monitoring experience.
• Interpretation of physiological systems during live monitoring.
• Patient/clinical consultation experience.

This role is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week), with actual hours of work being determined by a roster set in advance. This could include either a day, evening or night shift.
The role is based at Bowen Hospital.
