Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District Location: Wellington Central Community Mental Health Team Service: MHAIDS Contract: Permanent, Full-time Salary: Dependent on experience Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role Your role in the Wellington Central Community Mental Health Team will involve the delivery of a range of psychological therapies for adults with moderate to severe mental health disorders. You will be expected to undertake comprehensive assessments, create risk management plans, formulate and articulate treatment plans, and provide individual/group therapies for a broad range of mental health difficulties. You will provide a psychological perspective across the MDT. Psychologists at any stage in their career are very welcome to apply. New graduate or early career psychologists are well supported within the Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS). The Psychology Transition group is a peer supervision group specifically aimed at psychologists new to MHAIDS. There are also peer supervision and special interest groups (e.g., for neuropsychology, EMDR) that run frequently. MHAIDS routinely provides training in areas of interest to psychologists (e.g., motivational interviewing, risk assessment, Te Tiriti o Waitangi). There are supports in place to help new psychologists find clinical supervisors. We also welcome applications from experienced psychologists. There are opportunities to supervise other psychologists, including intern psychologists, as well as staff from other disciplines completing the Otago University CBT certificate and diploma courses. There is much opportunity to shape its future and the role of psychology within the team. We are a team with a lot of experience, and some of us have worked together for many years. Our base is located in Mount Cook / Newtown, very close to central Wellington. We share office space with the Wellington South CMHT, and Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) is located on the floor below. This makes for a thriving, exciting work environment with staff across teams mutually supporting one another. We have a good working relationship with other services in the local community, and we routinely work closely with NGOs and primary care. Moū - About you You will be working with a dynamic and experienced multidisciplinary team who strive to provide high quality care. We are looking to recruit a Clinical Psychologist with: * Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology or equivalent * Registration with the NZ Psychology Board as a Registered Psychologist with a Clinical Scope of practice * Current Practicing Certificate * Proven psychological, psychometric and neuropsychological assessment skills * Ability to work in a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and demonstrate values consistent with those of the MHAIDS Services. * Committed to working within the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. * Capacity to practice in a manner that engages tangata whaiora/consumers/whānau from a range of different cultural backgrounds. * Ability to work effectively with partner agencies in the community to meet a diverse range of needs. * Demonstrates competence in communicating with a wide range of people, and leads meetings and documents outcomes and plans * Experience in the field of mental health is preferred * You will be a team player with a sense of humourE pā ana ki a tatou - About us Here at Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District we embrace diversity and welcome applications from all people, including all gender identities, ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, disability and religions.
