We currently have an amazing career opportunity for a self-motivated person to join our Company Meat Inspection (CMI) team at our Awarua processing facility near Invercargill to help get NZ Lamb from our backyard to customers plates.
As one of our Company Meat Inspectors you are responsible for carrying out post-mortem inspection of dressed carcasses and their parts to identify conditions that may affect food safety standards. You will also ensure that the Companies supply of meat complies with regulations set by the Ministry of Primary Industries and other relevant industry bodies. The role involves inspecting animals after slaughter ensuring that the Company meets all regulations for processing and cleanliness, along with monitoring and maintaining accurate recording of industry data. This means you will need to check the quality and safety of any Company product and identify diseases and defects. Additionally, a key part of this role is to communicate the quality and safety of the product to the Company.
