Join us as the frontline defender of our environment and community. In this field-based role, you will provide a comprehensive compliance response service, addressing investigations, breach resolutions, remediation activities, and enforcement actions related to the Resource Management Act, Building Act, and relevant Bylaws. Your ability to assess situations and provide guidance to customers, assisting them in achieving compliance, will be instrumental in creating positive outcomes for Auckland. Please note that occasional after-hours work may be required.
This is a full-time, permanent position, with a 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday, along with on-call responsibilities as needed. Initially based in Orewa and relocating to the Albany office in mid-2023, your area of focus will be North Auckland.

As the face of Auckland Council in various scenarios, your professionalism, mediation skills, and conflict resolution abilities should be exceptional. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for success in this role. Given the extensive interaction involved, highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and engage with diverse individuals are vital. Your innate problem-solving abilities and expertise in building relationships and resolving conflicts through negotiation will be highly valued.
This position would be well-suited for individuals with experience in building, compliance, law enforcement, or investigation. You are a strong team player with a solid understanding of relevant legislation, coupled with the ability to effectively convey requirements to customers.
