This is an exciting time to join Dyson and play a pivotal role in the strategic expansion plan for New ZealandAbout The Role:To lead the New Zealand (NZ) consumer business for Dyson; developing the Dyson brand across NZ as an innovative, technology-led premium brand. As Country Manager, you will be tasked with growing market share, sales and profits sustainably, across channels; and to leverage full retail potential for all product categories.The NZ market is not new to Dyson but still we will be looking to this individual to leverage their knowledge, experience, and networks to drive awareness, presence and growth.Build the BusinessTake the lead in establishing the new form of business in NZEnsure the office is well set-up and fully functioning as a Dyson officeAttract talent to build the teamCollaborate with colleagues across Australia and Group to bring expertise and adapt best practice to the local marketsEstablish relations with key partnersStrategic Thinking and Executional DeliveryWork in partnership with Australian leadership community to deploy the business strategy for APACCollaborate with the sales and marketing team in Australia to learn and adopt best practice to the NZ marketNetwork with key stakeholders at Group and across APAC to deploy the sales and marketing plans, and execution model, and educate colleagues on the needs and behaviors of NZ marketDevelop strategies in partnership with counter-parts to deliver both in-store and online salesDeliver business results (volume and revenue) and profitCreate action plans to deliver 18-month and 5-year strategy and annualEnsure the consistent development of sales and marketing strategies that drive the business to meet business goals and objectiveDrive effective channel strategies and range strategies with retailers/distributors to maximize and optimize Dyson profitably in line with market goals, and expand channels at the right paceWork with Marketing, PR and Finance colleagues to make integrated business plans for growth.In collaboration with Marketing, determine and manage;Dyson spend on marketing per year per market.Product range, SKU and Line-upRetail executions, store experience and counsellingResponsible for delivering monthly sales volumes and communicating to the AU leadership team and wider business any changes to budget, target or LEEstablish portfolio pricing strategy, maximizing Dyson profit whilst hitting the appropriate local pricesTrain and up skill the capability of the sales and demonstrator team to increase effectiveness and rate of sale per store – driving best practice across the region.Manage business to maximize profitability and reduce variabilityEstablish strongest possible commercial relationships with key customers & local agency partnersOversee complex customer negotiationsWork closely with key retailer partnersDevelop Category Management approach where possibleManage total costs to maximize profitability, and overheads competitively in line with P&L plansManage imperative supply chain efficiencies and NZ specific logistical requirements (through 3PL)Marketing & PRBuild relationships with Group to support the local requirements for NZ, and gather support to overcome any market challengesEstablish strong relations with the Australian Commercial team to launch the optimal product range for NZRetail & Other Agency PartnershipsOversee management of key partnershipsBuild appropriate channel differentiation strategies and deliver multi-channel profit optimizationCompetitor ManagementTake the fight for product leadership to competitors and exploit fully our technological advantagesMonitor competitor activity, report and develop activity to counter their impact.Work with Group to identify trends and develop strategies to outperform the competitionLead the fight against copycats and those infringing Dyson IP.Legal complianceManage the approvals process and ensure contract implementation is adhered to and terms are observedAbout You:10+years of work experience in a sales focused role, as P&L owner for a company, or as a leader of a significant business segment within.Past work experience should be mainly of working with established multinational companies in Australia/ New Zealand.Experience demonstrating a start-up mentality will be advantageous.Commercial – sales/marketing experience, with a proven track record of results.Proven P&L track recordEvidence of budget control and high level of financial expertise.A leader of people able to energize and build a team to deliver ambitious growth targets while managing some ambiguityMethodical business planning capabilityHigh level of communication skills both verbal and writtenExcellent team leadership abilitiesInfluencing and negotiation skillsDyson is an equal opportunity employer.
