Duty MangerThe Opportunity: Duty Manager

We’re on the lookout for an Duty Manager join our operations team. Reporting to the Venue Services Manager, the Duty Manager is responsible for supporting the VSM in the day-to-day operational duties that events runs smoothly from an operational perspective within the revenue.Core Responsibilities

A comprehensive understanding of all technical areas and a high level of practical experience.Exercises a professional manner in liaising with a wide range of specialist sub-contractorsDemonstrated knowledge of all aspects of event productionSound working knowledge of theatrical devices and good eye for detailDemonstrates superior fault finding capabilities and considers technical redundancy in show specifications.Ensures the security of equipment and cablesAssists in the installation, operation and pack down of equipment in a safe manner as requiredNotifies the Client Operations Supervisor or day operations of any difficulties related to venues/jobAssist the Client Operations Team to ensure the efficient running of event staging services within the venueEnsure the smooth and efficient running of the audiovisual department activitiesCheck rooms including set up of audio visual equipment prior to function commencementCo-ordinate with venue set-up and breakdown staff so as to provide smooth interaction between venue tasks and EncoreLiaise with the Client Operations Team to ensure clear communication regarding events in the venueInform the appropriate people of any areas of concern so that problems with equipment, crew, venue staff or clients can be rectified expedientlyAssist where needed, the rostering/sourcing of crew to complete daily tasksAssist crew with the responsibility for the maintenance and storage of all equipmentLog all damage to Encore and/or venue property and take appropriate action to mitigate lossResponsible for the appearance and operational performance of staffUnderstand and adhere to the Client Venue Policies and Procedures and ensure Encore crew at the Host Venue follow theseWhere necessary, make changes and additions to jobs quoted to ensure the correct equipment is on the order and available.Assist in stock control and monitor the integrity of equipment for the venueAttend operational meetings with venue personnelEnsure the maintenance and cleanliness of all storage areas and equipment within the venueWhat we're looking for in a Duty Manager

!Proven track record of managing a team of peopleProven management or supervisory experienceExperience in the Hospitality or Events industry highly desirableMust have demonstrated a minimum 2 years experience as crewExperience with and a sound working knowledge of, rigging truss frameworks, projectors, lighting, screens and mechanical winches; hydraulic platforms and lifters; pulley reveal systems; electrical junction boxes and power distributionMust be able to earn the respect and confidence of the crew, something which is not possible without a portfolio of successful past eventsMust have some experience in all aspects of events from the hotel banquets policy to the freight company operationExcellent oral and written communication skillsHighly developed customer service skillsTime management skills; the ability to manage multiple and competing deadlinesAbility to maintain composure under pressureDemonstrated effective decision making skillsMaturity to deal with people at all levels of the organisationSound negotiation skillsStrong analytical and problem solving skillsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailMaintain confidentiality at all timesPunctualElevated Work Platform licenceCurrent Drivers licenceMedium Rigid (MR)Truck licence (desirable)What we can offer you and why you'll love the Encore team
