What you will do

As the Electric Advisor you’ll be responsible for providing technical advice on tri-service operaitonal equipment and advice on the management of specilist electrical equipment. You’ll develop cost effective solutions that are operationally feasible and safe within the bounds of the engineering regulatory framework, and with due regard to the principles of maintenance support.
What we need

Your knowledge of current NZ Electrical legislation such as the Electricity Act, Electricity Safety Regulations and all Electrical AS/NZS including bio medical and Apprentice Training standards, as well as your experience within the electrical industry and be a registered Electrician.

In order to be successful in this role you’ll need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to conduct robust research and use your initiative.

The NZDF Equipment Management Organisation (EM Org) will provide a single point of accountability for the through-life management of specified equipment across the Land, Air and Maritime environments thereby ensuring that all equipment receives consistent strategic logistic support whilst in service in NZDF.

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.
