Based in our Richmond offices, the Environmental Information Team are seeking a person with a practical can-do attitude and on the job experience in data collection to join our Environmental Monitoring team. The team is focused on collecting accurate data from a range of environments including, groundwater, rivers and lakes, sea level, water quality and meteorology.
Great Job:
You will be involved in the design, construction, and maintenance of monitoring sites, plus operate a wide variety of technology including data loggers, remote control boats and drones. While you will be travelling the rivers, mountains and coastline of the district that boasts high sunshine hours, there will also be an equal amount of office-based work. You will carry out equipment calibrations, quality assurance and data processing, and have opportunity to be involved in data analysis and maintaining data telemetry.
If you are someone who enjoys the outdoors; we work in a variety of environments and terrains which can be physically demanding, so you'll need to be a confident swimmer and have a reasonable level of fitness. You'll like working autonomously and are also comfortable to share ideas with and work in a team. Ideally you will have a minimum of three years' experience in Environmental Monitoring with strengths in asset maintenance/construction. We are open to those wanting to deepen their experience, or those who are exceptionally skilled in the field, with remuneration appropriate to level of competency.
