Jeff Farm was gifted to The Salvation Army - Jeff Farm Trust in 1954 by then owners - Edmund Sanderson and Maud Jeff - who wished the property to be used for training young people in agriculture. The farm currently consists of 26,000su including sheep beef and deer breeding and finishing.
About the Role:
The Farm Cook's primary role is to prepare and supply lunchtime and evening meals for 5 cadets and casual staff as required on scheduled work days. This role typically works alongside the Fencer General position as there is accommodation available for a couple to live and work as a team on the premises.
What will your responsibilities be:
To prepare and supply lunchtime and evening meals for 5 cadets and casual staff as required on scheduled work days.
To supply morning teas and packed lunches as requested by the manager.
To supply meals that are nutritionally balanced with good quality ingredients that are suitable for working/growing teenagers.
To provide some pastoral care and guidance to cadets. This will involve monitoring the cadet duty roster and the tidiness of the cadet quarters on a weekly basis.
To follow all health and safety guidelines.
To set and supply a weekly menu and grocery list to the Manager.
To manage and monitor the cookshop food supplies.
To cook in an efficient manner to help keep costs down and reduce food wastage.
Our ideal candidate will:
Be a team player with open communication.
Be punctual, self-disciplined and able to prioritise and manage your own workload.
Have the ability to pass on skills and knowledge to farm cadets.
Maintain cookshop and equipment to a high standard.
Report to manager regularly on cadet feedback and progress.
Abide by all health and safety guidelines at all times.

This role is permanent part time and hours worked will be 25 hours per week, with some extra hours and weekends as required by the manager and seasonal demands of the farming business.
The starting salary for this role will fall $30,000 and $35,000 per annum.
