Blind Low Vision NZ is on the lookout for an extraordinary individual to join our team as a full-time Guide Dog Mobility Instructor based in Wellington. As a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor, you will immerse yourself in the rewarding world of guide dogs, playing a pivotal role in their journey from energetic puppies to trusted guides. Your days will be filled with training these incredible animals and their dedicated handlers while also supporting them as they build a strong bond that will open up a world of independence for people that are blind, deafblind, or have low vision.
Based out of our Wellington office, you will find yourself regularly travelling around the lower North Island and occasionally venturing out to other parts of the country. This role is your ticket to an exciting career that combines your love for dogs with your excellent skills in mobility training.

To be successful in this role, you must have:
· A qualified Guide Dog Mobility Instructor from an organisation accredited by the International Guide Dog Federation
· Minimum of two years’ post qualification experience in the guide dog field
· Computer literate with the ability to report fluently using written communication
· Comfort with speaking in public settings
· Strong communication skills
· Physically fit to train dogs and guide dog teams in all types of weather
· Willingness to represent Blind Low Vision NZ in fundraising efforts
· Willing to travel within New Zealand as required
