Specialist Intensivist

The details: Permanent – Full time, 40 hours per week
A new permanent position has become available for an Intensivist to join our existing team.
About the service:
The Critical Care Department at our Hospital is the tertiary provider for Intensive Care to the Midland region of New Zealand. Our new unit is a state of the art, 16-bed facility providing a wide range of services across all major specialty interests. We are a major trauma centre, the second largest cardiac surgical centre in New Zealand, and a busy general intensive care catering to the needs of 1500 ICU patients and almost 3000 HDU level patients each year. We operate a retrieval service by both air and road for critical care patients and a large contingency of cardiac patients. In accordance with the level of service provided, the unit is credentialed by the College of Critical Care Medicine at level C24.
Required skills & experience:
• Hold current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in the scope of practice of Intensive Care Medicine, or equivalent, and must be of good standing.
• Employment in this role will only be confirmed once the applicant has been successfully credentialed by the relevant committee of the Health Board.

The Hospital is the Midland regional referral centre for multiple specialties including trauma surgery, oncology, and neurology.
