Evidence of citizenship is required at time of application. About the Department of Home AffairsThe Department of Home Affairs is a central policy agency, providing coordinated strategy and policy leadership for Australia's national and transport security, federal law enforcement, criminal justice, cyber security, border, immigration, multicultural affairs, emergency management and trade related functions. Immigration Programs Division delivers the permanent migration and temporary visa programs to maximise the long-term economic and social benefits to Australia across the Skilled, Family and Resident Return visa programs, and through Temporary entry to support tourism, education and international relations. Caseload Risk and Integrity Program OverviewOffshore integrity teams, in collaboration with integrity teams in Australia, are part of a global caseload risk and integrity network. The primary role of the Caseload Risk and Integrity team is to identify tactical, entity or caseload specific risks in the visa programs processed in their location and to also support onshore processing locations in identifying risks related to nationals of the Pacific region.This position has a key focus on IPD tactical risk in relation to non-genuine applicants and systemic fraud to circumvent risk settings.Support the development of intelligence-informed risk-based decision making at the tactical or caseload level. About the positionThis role is fixed term for two years with possibility of one year extension.With limited direction, the Integrity Manager, Locally Engaged Integrity Officer (LEIO) will provide guidance, training, reporting capability and support to manage risk in visa caseloads.The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:Lead and manage the Wellington CRIT to provide a high level of support to visa program delivery officers, to apply risk treatments and controls effectively.Build and maintain effective working relationships through regular contact with the visa processing teams and key external stakeholders to anticipate and respond to expectations.Ensure quality outputs by reviewing risk controls, testing assumptions, while reporting on their effectiveness, and provide solutions for ineffective controls.Prepare reports on program trends, activities or milestones in response to risk in the relevant visa program.Use good judgement and expertise to provide advice on risk tiering to assist with streamlining application processing so that high-risk cases are resourced appropriately, and low risk cases are assessed efficiently.Provide subject matter expertise and immediate escalation support in relation to character, threat, (intelligence products) and identity assessments and assessing bona fides.Manage requests for subject matter expertise to assist in identifying preventative measures against future immigration malpractice.Provide an escalation point for the management of complex or sensitive cases presenting tactical risk concerns.Work with other Caseload Risk and Integrity Team Leaders and Offshore Integrity Officers to ensure the holistic development of intelligence-informed, risk-based decision-making, and promote the consistent application of risk treatment and controls.Other activities may include:Undertake some quality assurance and perform other relevant tasks that require a security clearance.Undertake field visit trips, including site-visits, preparing associated reports and analysis.Initiate and action visa cancellations in consultation with Australian-based staff.Qualifications/ExperienceCandidates must be able to obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance and must therefore be a citizen of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the USA or the United Kingdom.Excellent written and oral language skills in English Highly developed communication and liaison skills, including demonstrated ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders.Highly developed analytic skills capable of drawing together multiple sources of information.Extensive experience undertaking data analysis and producing high quality written reports on the findings. Highly developed skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, particularly the ability to use these systems to analyse and interrogate data. A strong understanding of the visa processing and integrity systems or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems.Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying legislation and policy to support integrity processes. Previous experience in improving visa tactical risk management is highly desirable.Ability to work independently while under pressure and manage multiple deadlines at once.Ability to set priorities and organise workloads to achieve outcomes and meet deadlines in response to changing operational environments.Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor staff, and to work effectively with other team members, in a culturally diverse environment. High degree of personal drive and integrity and the ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing requirements.Qualifications in a data analysis or investigations field would be an advantage. Strong ability to exercise good judgement.What we offer the successful candidateAnnual salary NZ$111,531.72 plus KiwiSaver employer contribution equivalent to 6% of salary. Performance rewardsFull time hours – 37.5 hours per weekThis role is fixed term for 2 years, plus 1 year possible extensionComplimentary use of staff gym, squash court and comprehensive leave entitlementsA great team environment.How to ApplyApplications including a one-page pitch and maximum two-page CV and proof of citizenship (eg: passport) should be emailed to ****** A merit list will be created and used for future vacancies.  Your application will include the following questions: Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?
