UCG works closely with network operators to optimise the performance of their existing and planned infrastructure and to ensure that deployments are delivered fit for purpose and future proofed.Ko ta matou mahi -  About the roleWe have an opportunity for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join us at our head office in Penrose, Auckland. Reporting to the Head of IT & Business Intelligence, the IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining the hardware, software, network resources and cloud services required to reliably support UCG's business operations. In doing so the role will be required to operate efficiently, perform within agreed targets, and deliver a safe and secure platform.Ko to mahi  – What you will doBe a product champion for the company's selected IT systems, educating and advocating the value they deliver.Identify opportunities to improve usage and uptake by end-users, and work with relevant members of the Technology Centre to realise these.Contribute to all aspects of the IT Infrastructure, including but not limited to the design of solutions for hardware, software, networking and cloud services.Be the internal technical lead in the implementation of IT infrastructure solutions.Provide end to end IT solutions and support for employees including but not limited to the provision of hardware and software for employees.Play the lead role for IT inventory management, including but not limited to procurement, delivery, receipt and the discarding of IT related equipment.Support the Head of IT and BI oversee UCG's ICT vendor management program to ensure all third-party vendors and service providers provide reliable and flexible solutions and cost controls that are consistent with strategic plans and business objectives.Support the Head of IT & Business Intelligence to ensure best practice cyber security measures are implemented and any IT risks are mitigated.Support the Head of IT & Business Intelligence to ensure UCG's maintenance of its ISO27001 accreditation and that preparation for external audits are conducted.Na tou rourou    -  What you will bring.Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, computer science, information systems, or a similar field.CompTIAA+, Microsoft, or Network+ certificationA minimum of 5 years' experience in an equivalent position.Proficient with Windows Server, Active DirectoryGood knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP, IP, and OSI models.Exceptional communication skillsWe are a passionate, diverse and inclusive team where to 'Empower By Creating Better Connections' is our stated purpose.
