We’re looking for an experienced people leader tojoin our high-performing Climate Change business unit. This role is permanent,full-time and based in our central Wellington office.
About the role:
This role leads a team of up to four people, whichis responsible for a large and influential programme of work. The role providesday to day leadership and direction to the Climate Change business unit throughguiding and mentoring their day-to-day work, ensuring the team workscollectively and cohesively together.
The programme of work includes overseeingGreater Wellington’s Climate Emergency Response Programme (thecross-organisational programme of work for climate action within GreaterWellington), as well as contributing to regional climate change work. The roleworks closely with the Executive Leadership Team, senior managers andcouncillors, as well as other territorial authorities and key partners.
Skills andexperience required:
Youwill ideally have people leadership experience, excellent knowledge andunderstanding of climate change issues and sustainable management concepts andpractice, and the ability to advise and influence across the organisation atall levels. You will be someone who enjoys a challenge and enabling ahigh-performing team to achieve positive outcomes for the Council.
