A 12 month opportunity has arisen for a Manager Minerals Operations in the Energy & Resource Markets Branch at the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment.
The Manager Minerals Operations is a people management position in MBIE. In the role you will bring best practice regulatory, compliance and enforcement principles combined with business understanding and perspective to work in partnership with senior managers, other people managers, team members and stakeholders in the minerals sector.
You will be responsible for the effective functioning of Mineral regulatory stewardship responsibilities in relation to the Crown Mineral Estate. These responsibilities result in positive outcomes for the Crown, namely increased value of the estate and maximised royalties to the Crown. Your responsibility span the entire regulatory lifecycle of mineral development from first engagement with potential permit holders to responsible development of mining operations to extract New Zealand’s mineral wealth.
You will be responsible for taking a whole-of system regulatory view and ensuring that ongoing monitoring of the systems and services that support best practice regulation, compliance and enforcement are fit for purpose.
