The Corporate Services directorate at the Ministry of Health is looking to recruit for a role that provides pivotal business support to our Deputy Director-General as well as the wider directorate. This role is part of the Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for supporting the business planning.


The Corporate Services directorate works across the whole Ministry to support the people, processes and technology of our employees, and this in turn has a direct contribution to supporting the health and wellbeing of people, families and communities in New Zealand.  The Directorate includes our People & Capability, Finance, ICT, Legal, Operations, Audit & Compliance, Risk & Assurance, Organisational Stratgegy, EPMO & Performance groups.


The role of Manager Office of the Deputy Director-General is responsible for helping to develop and maintain annual business plans for the Directorate, coordinate reporting requirements, provide Directorate input to Ministry planning and reporting, provide leadership for projects, and collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team to facilitate best outcomes.


To be successful, we are looking for a person with strong people and interpersonal skills with influencing experience.  You will need to have highly developed written and oral communication skills, and an ability to synthesise complex information into key message for relevant audiences. You’ll also bring experience in driving streamlined business processes that are ‘right sized’ for the organisation, and ensuring review for continuous improvement.
