The Office of the Auditor-General | Te Mana Arotake(the Office) is focused on significantly enhancing its influence and impact on the public sector to deliver better results for Aotearoa New Zealand. The Office is dedicated to making a difference to the lives of New Zealanders, by helping to continuously improve the public’s trust in public services and the value those services deliver.

We are looking for a Manager, Strategy and Performance to co-ordinate and advise the Office on strategy, planning, and project and programme management.

You’ll be responsible for providing timely and effective support to our senior leaders by leading the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the Office’s strategy, planning processes, governance arrangements, and reporting systems. 

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • a relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in business and/or public finance and administration;
  • an excellent understanding of the concepts and principles of strategy development, planning, project and programme management, performance reporting, and governance and accountability;
  • a sound understanding of the system and operation of government and public management in New Zealand;
  • experience leading high-performing teams; and
  • excellent interpersonal and strong relationship management skills.
