Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust - Whitebait ConnectionMarketing Communications (Marketing & Communications)Marketing, Communications and Fundraising Lead (MTSCT)We are looking for someone with the right attitude, knowledge, talent, and skills to hit the ground running. The Marketing, Communications and Fundraising Lead is responsible for planning, developing and implementing all marketing, communications, fundraising strategies, payment platforms, and digital platform development to increase awareness, engagement and financial support for Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust (MTSCT) and its charitable programs/initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Marketing & Brand Strategy:- Develop integrated marketing plans to build the organization's brand and promote its mission.- Identify target audiences and develop messaging that resonates.- Plan and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns across digital, print, events etc.- Measure and optimize campaign performance against goals.Communications:- Manage all external and internal communications for a consistent brand voice.- Write, edit and produce content like newsletters, annual reports, grant proposals etc.- Manage the website, social media channels and digital/email marketing.- Handle public relations, media inquiries and promotional partnerships.- Cultivate good relationships with varied media outlets and actively pitch stories.- Assist Trust and regional providers to create professional, consistent and on message communications collateral.- Collaborate with the development team on fundraising campaigns and initiatives.- Create marketing materials to acquire and steward donors/sponsors.- Support fundraising events with promotion, attendee communications etc.- Develop cases for giving, grant applications and fundraising pitches/presentations.- Assist the Board of Trustees to develop relationships with key stakeholders, elected officials and funders in order to develop a sustainable funding model.Payment & Digital Platforms:- Research and evaluate online/mobile payment platform options for donations.- Develop strategies to promote and drive adoption of payment platforms.- Optimize platform user experience for fundraising campaigns and donor journey.- Analyze and manage the organization's digital platforms (website, apps, databases etc.)- Identify opportunities to upgrade or develop new digital platforms as needed.- Collaborate with technology partners/vendors on platform integration and projects.- Test new platform features and enhancements from a user experience perspective.Brand Management:- Establish and uphold brand standards across all channels and customer touchpoints.- Oversee design and production of branded print/digital assets and collateral.- Manage relationships with creative agencies, vendors and suppliers.General:- Analyze metrics and provide quarterly reports on marketing/fundraising/platform performance.- Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and industry best practices.- Manage agency relationships.- Stay current on marketing/fundraising/digital trends, tools and technologies.Marketing, Communications and Fundraising Lead - Wai Connection project specific tasks:Wai Connection – Tatai Ki Te Wai’ is a catchment community engagement project offering on-the-ground support to assist with catchment issues through tailored change at source. We work to build community involvement, equity, and a shared vision of ecological sustainability as the basis of a healthy community.The project helps empower communities through providing knowledge, tools and (most importantly) expert support to help identify and solve issues in their local catchment. We’ll connect people with their waterways, and promote collaboration between local catchment groups, NGO’s, hapū/iwi, Regional Council, central Government and primary industry working within the catchment – helping deliver the goals of the Government’s Essential Freshwater (EF) work package.This hands-on role will require you to support the Wai Connection project by making sure our communications systems and processes are on point and helping to deliver this large-scale project and ensuring funding is available where needed beyond June 2025:Work closely with the Project Manager.Develop Project Communications and Evaluation Plan.Development of fundraising plan as well as relationship building with funders/donors.Support our national leadership team in developing project resources.Management of funding calendar;Fundraising events & applications;Preparing media releases.Assisting in rewriting our Funding Strategy.Supporting the management of our social media accounts and websites.Photography and videography at Trust events and programme delivery.The right person will have:Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.8+ years’ experience in integrated marketing and communications roles.Proven track record in planning and executing successful fundraising campaigns.Excellent written/verbal communication and copywriting abilities.Strong project management, budgeting and organizational skills.Proficiency with marketing/fundraising software, CRM, CMS, design tools etc.Experience managing digital marketing channels like social, email, web etc. with favourable growth.Knowledge of fundraising compliance, regulations and best practices.Passion for the organization's charitable mission and causes.A background/understanding of freshwater and/or marine environmental science, field biology and/or environmental education and working with/for non-for-profits is an advantage.Experience with delivering projects and working with local and central government is an advantage.Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.Ability to effectively network and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.Experience with Xero accounting ‘Projects’ module, Google Drive, Canva, and Monday.com CRM is an advantage.An understanding / awareness of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Māori.A passion for the environment and for sharing this knowledge with other people.Aware of Health and Safety issues and willing to promote excellent health and safety practices.Happy to do some travel around the country when required.Full drivers’ licence and own vehicle.Own a computer for office tasks working from home.No criminal record and can pass police vetting.Public speaking and facilitation.Ability to work as an independent contractor.PLEASE NOTE: APPLICATIONS CLOSE 14 MAY 2024.
