At Backstage (www.backstage.com), we’re focused on providing the best career platform to match performing artists and crew with talent seekers in film, television, commercials, branded content, theater, and more worldwide.  Marketplace Content Manager Backstage and StarNow are seeking a Marketplace Manager: Casting Calls and Client Support to manage a team of content and customer success specialists. StarNow (www.starnow.com), a Backstage brand based out of New Zealand, is an award-winning auditions and jobs website for the entertainment industry with a speciality in serving in the UK, NZ, and AU markets. We’re looking for a talented Marketplace Content Manager to oversee a team of specialists that work with all of the user-generated casting calls and job listings that are posted to StarNow’s site, and related customer service and client-facing responsibilities. We are only considering candidates in New Zealand or Australia at this time.

The Gig:

  • Manage the team’s schedules, training, and performances.
  • Ensure that casting calls and job listings are processed in a timely manner.
  • Spot-check for content errors and areas of improvement.
  • Correct slippages in performance and improve workflows and processes.
  • Advise the team on what jobs to approve or reject and how to handle clients’ questions.
  • Promote a client-friendly atmosphere with a focus on light account-management and customer success.
  • Handle common client questions, complaints, and suspect-user investigations.
  • Pitch in with content-processing and client-management help when there’s an overflow of content.
  • Assist key clients when needed, in coordination with the account management and business development teams.
  • Become an internal product-expert on both the back-office admin and user-facing sides of the system.
  • Report on and analyze team performance metrics and content-pipeline trends.
  • Coordinate with Backstage’s and StarNow’s other teams across the globe to help maximize productivity, improve the user-experience, and grow the brands.
  • About You:

  • Self-directed multitasker accustomed to meeting tight deadlines.
  • A terrific manager and strong communicator.
  • A strong understanding of content-management, copyediting, customer service, and account management.
  • Strategic and analytical.
  • A willingness to learn and understand the various complexities of the changing Backstage and StarNow landscapes.
  • Requirements:

  • 3+ years working as a manager or team lead.
  • Experience working in content management, account management, copyediting, and/or customer service.
  • Strong management, copyediting, proofreading, technical, investigative, and client-facing skills, and a good eye for details.
  • Added Bonus:

  • Work experience and/or love of the entertainment industry, film/TV production, commercial production, theatre, and/or the talent-casting process. 
  • Experience working with a CRM, such as Zendesk, Pipedrive, Freshdesk or Hubspot.
