Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Engineering) Trimax Mowing Systems is a family owned company that designs, develops, manufactures and distributes tractor mounted rotary and flail mowing equipment. Our headquarters and design centre are located in Tauranga, NZ and we have manufacturing facilities in NZ, the UK, the US and Australia. To keep pace with substantial business growth we are looking to expand our technical teams, and currently we are looking for experienced mechatronics engineers. The Position: We are looking for a talented degree qualified mechatronics engineer with a passion for mechanical, electrical and software design. In this position you will participate in projects as both project lead and team member, you will use our development facility to design and realise prototypes as you work from the inception stage right through to production. You must be able to demonstrate a strong ability to design for manufacture and have a proven ability to problem solve, you will be able to develop solutions that meet stakeholder requirements and translate these into the production environment. You will be working collaboratively with the growing team and our international production facilities, so it is essential that you have well developed communication and interpersonal skills. Duties and Responsibilities: Work with internal and external customers to build empathy, uncover opportunities and develop a deep understanding of the new product development landscape Design electrical and mechanical prototypes and mechanisms Design and integrate electrical hardware for machinery control and data acquisition Create embedded firmware to drive bespoke control systems Capture knowledge in summarised or detailed technical reports, create and maintain active lines of internal communication and present technical recommendations to stakeholders. Develop and maintain CAD models, drawings, testing documentation, simulations and operating instructions Investigate opportunities for improvement through the Trimax continuous improvement system. Provide technical engineering guidance and training for production staff and manufacturing subcontractors. Design appropriate jigs, fixtures, production methods and procedures to support internal production teams and subcontractors. Role Requirements: An appropriate Engineering degree or diploma in mechatronics or similar At least 5 years experience in a similar role Sound understanding of integrated electronics manufacturing Experience with design software such as SolidEdge, Solidworks, Eagle, Altium or similar Proven ability to develop code in various languages ie CC++, Arduino, Java Understanding of communication protocols such as CANbus, ISObus, Bluetooth, WIFI Demonstrate a hands on approach to building electrical and mechanical prototypes or solving challenges in the field Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with MS Word and Excel If you'd like to be part of our great team, experience fantastic opportunities for growth and success, be part of a global company that believes in their people and products, you like working as part of a team, and you've got the skills and experience we're looking for, them please apply now.
