It's taken some good old-fashioned hard work to get where we are, and our committed team are a huge part of our ongoing success.

We currently require 2 experienced Microbiology Laboratory Technicians to join our Hokitika based team. Ideally you will have had previous experience in a similar role, working at (or on your way towards) Key Technical Personnel (KTP) level. Working across a wide variety of dairy tests and products, you will pride yourself on your attention to detail and work only to the highest standards. Innovation and problem-solving abilities along with excellent organisational and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work confidently with computer systems.

Your responsibilities will include performing testing on final product within our quality assurance guidelines to meet our ISO 17025 accreditation. You will also learn the rationale behind the testing and then have the ability to troubleshoot a test or method if required. You will be working with state of the art equipment in a progressive and expanding company.

In summary, we are looking for someone with:

A tertiary qualification in science, specialising in microbiology

Proven practical experience in a commercial laboratory, well versed in microbiology laboratory methods and techniques

Ideally prior experience working at a KTP level - or keen to quickly progress to that level

A strong desire to live and work in Hokitika

A high degree of motivation who is enthusiastic about science and the role

A high level of attention to detail and the ability to use their initiative

Excellent communication and relationship building skills
